Vocalist Lee Renaud, a longtime friend of the band, auditioned for lead singer in 2010. Without any formal training or stage experience, he shocked all the band members with his powerful, dynamic voice, as none of them were aware of his remarkable talent.

A member of the band for less than a year, Lee already drawns considerable attention for his vocal range and rich emotional tones. By listening to power metal bands like Stratovarius, Kamelot, and Nightwish (combined with lots of practice), he has taught himself to hit some of the most difficult notes that a man can reach and does so with uncommon ease. While early on, he was somewhat reticent about playing on stage and interacting with the crowds, he has grown into a commanding presence on stage. Lee is also a very gifted artist, and does the graphic design for the band’s logos, advertisements, album covers, etc. He’s also getting more involved with songwriting and ideas for performance antics. A martial arts practitioner, his zen like inner balance brings a new layer to the band. He completes this puzzle, this enigma that is Algernon.
